Unlock all Editions on Windows 7 DVD

Every Windows 7 DVD contains all Editions. There's a simple trick to unlock all Editions on any Windows 7 DVD.
Normally you would have to remove the file sources\ei.cfg on the installation DVD, because this file is used to store the information about the DVD's Edition. There's a small tool which spares you the work of manually unpacking the image, removing that file and finally re-creating the image.

Instructions to unlock all editions on a Windows 7 DVD image:
  1. Download "eicfg removal utility" (click here)
  2. Run eicfg_remover.exe
  3. Choose the image file
  4. Have fun!

  3. GREAT tip!!! But does it mean that the key that came with the installation DVD is good for ALL versions? Thanks 4 replying

  4. No, your key will only work for the version you bought. But you can evaluate other versions 30 days without a key. And if someone owns two versions, this way he just needs 1 DVD

  7. Seems like you do not have the untouched ISO from Microsoft. There might be custom images which do not contain all versions.
Try to get another image, please do not ask for links.
